An example

Opening: “The Lantern Keeper. A Cornish Mystery. Book Two of The Tide Books. Written by Mara Penrose. Narrated by Tom Hale.”

Closing: “The End. This has been The Lantern Keeper: A Cornish Mystery. Written by Mara Penrose. Narrated by Tom Hale. Copyright 2024 by Mara Penrose. Production copyright 2026 by Gull Audio.”

Credits are checked like the rest of the book: same mic, same room, same levels. Run the takes through the ACX checker with your chapters, or master them together. audiobook.tools is not affiliated with ACX or Audible.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What must audiobook credits say for ACX?

The opening credits must state the title, the author or authors and the narrator or narrators, matching the book’s metadata and cover. The closing credits must make clear the book has ended; repeating the title, authors and narrators and saying “The End” is the usual way.

Where do the credits go?

ACX asks for opening credits at the start and closing credits at the end of the audiobook. Most producers put them in their own short files, or at the very start of the first chapter and the very end of the last.

Should I include copyright lines?

They are common in the closing credits (“Copyright 2024 by the author. Production copyright 2026 by the producer.”) but not required by ACX. Add them if your contract or publisher asks for them.

Can I use music under the credits?

ACX allows music in the credits as long as it doesn’t cover the narration, and you must have the rights to it.

Is anything uploaded or saved?

No. The script and recordings stay in your browser. The form is remembered on this device only so a reload doesn’t lose it.
