Your files never leave your device
Every tool on audiobook.tools runs inside your web browser. When you drop an audio file, an EPUB or any other file, it is read and processed on your own computer or phone using WebAssembly, the Web Audio API and WebGPU. We never upload, store or see your files, transcripts or text.
Files you drop are also kept in your browser’s own storage (the Workbench) so you can reuse them across tools. This storage is on your device only; you can remove files from the Workbench tray at any time, or clear it with your browser’s site data settings.
What we do collect
- Anonymous usage events: which tool was used, whether it succeeded, and a rough duration bucket. Never file names or contents.
- Standard analytics: pages viewed, approximate country, device type and referrer, through Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Preferences: your theme, calm mode and sound settings, stored in your browser.
Advertising and cookies
The site is free because it shows ads. Our advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads and measure their performance. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first, and ads are shown in non-personalised mode if you decline. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Downloads from third parties
Some tools download a processing engine or AI model the first time you use them, from public content delivery networks such as jsDelivr or Hugging Face. These downloads contain code and model files only; none of your data is sent with them.
Your choices
You can block cookies in your browser, decline consent where offered, use Global Privacy Control, or clear site data to remove everything stored by audiobook.tools on your device.
